What is your name?

Patricia Munthali

What volunteering do you do?

I volunteer at Recovery College. I’ve been helping with the administration work.

When did you start volunteering?

I started volunteering in April 2017.

Why did you choose to volunteer?

I have been properly and well supported by the NHS. I would like to give back in appreciation and also I want people to experience the support and understanding I received. I want to support and help people.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy hearing stories about people lives being changed after they attended Recovery College on graduation day and seeing people well.

What three words would you use to describe the NHS?

The NHS is Supportive, Understanding and Caring.

If you could give the NHS any 70th birthday present what would it be?

If I won the lottery I would donate a lot of money to the NHS so that the NHS would be able to continue to give proper support and care to a lot of people.

What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about volunteering at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust?

To anyone who would like to volunteer in the NHS I would say the NHS is a great place to work in.
