(Posting on behalf of Steve and Michael, Rosewood Involvement Volunteers)
Once again we left the National High Secure Women’s Service at Rampton Hospital, feeling quite euphoric. These last 2 days (13-14 August) we have been volunteering in partnership with the Recovery College and the Involvement team who have delivered interview training for six of the female patients at Rampton Hospital.
What a pleasure it has been.
These women may have felt apprehensive at the start but they very quickly showed enthusiasm, full involvement and a desire to learn. The recovery and value-based questions that they produced for mock interviews were truly first rate and showed intuition, empathy and a real insight into the qualities that they want in the staff who care for them.
The patients can be truly proud of the way in which they applied and conducted themselves. Future candidates will not have an easy ride when these ladies appear on patient interview panels, but they will be treated professionally and fairly.
Thank you so much to Amy and Kath who facilitated this training. For us it was a pleasure to be asked to help and we look forward to our next challenge.
As always great team work and parnership working here. The Recovery College at Rampton is going from strength to strength. Great for Patients and great for the volunteers….. what a fab read this was.
