So long, and thanks for all the fish.

On this, my last day with the Involvement, Experience & Volunteering Team, I wanted to leave one last thank you and farewell. I’ve been part of the team for nearly five years now and I can honestly say with hand on heart, that it’s included quite a few highlights of my career to date. Choosing to move on was an incredibly difficult decision to make and that was mostly due to the people I work with (both volunteers and staff) and the impact that the IEV Team has on Nottinghamshire Healthcare, our partners as well as nationally. My time with this team has only nurtured my beliefs in that our best outcomes come as a result of working together and listening to each other. That is something I will absolutely continue to carry with me as I venture on to pastures new.

“Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” – Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky

Or pastures not so new, perhaps. For those of you wondering where I’m moving on to, I’m going back to my previous NHS Trust, Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust, as an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Practitioner. Whilst I may be returning to LPFT, I am definitely not the same person as I was. I am changed as a result of my experiences over the last few years, and I personally like to think I’ve been changed for the better.

Thank you to everyone I’ve had the privilege of working with in my time with Nottinghamshire Healthcare. I look forward to seeing what you’ll accomplish next.
