Today’s Daily Post word prompt is “Shelf“. Too good to resist this one.
Anyone who works in the NHS, or indeed the public sector will know that there is jargon aplenty, we’re awash with acronyms that professionals spout out and expect others to understand. I know I’ve fallen into the same trap.
My absolute favourite acronym is “SHELF”.
Some of our Volunteers are currently involved in the “COPPS” Project which stands for Co-Production of Psychiatric Services. The COPPS project used to be called the SHELF project.
What does SHELF stand for? I hear you ask. We spent ages scratching our heads trying to work it out, emailing people to see if they knew.
Turns out it doesn’t actually stand for anything. Someone just decided to name the project “Shelf”.
