I am delighted to announce that our National High Secure Women’s Service “Team of Month” for February 2021 is Coral – our 6 bed intensive care ward managed by Jenny Wadsworth. We are super proud of this team as thanks to their care, compassion, consistency and courage, they have ensured each patient has made positive steps on their individual recovery journey.

For some patients this has been the successful termination of long term segregation or being ready to return to their parent ward, another the reduction of enhanced observations from 6 staff to 2 and the most heart-warming a lady who now has the strength and confidence to be able to access her own locker, sit in the day room with others and walk around our beautiful sensory garden area for the first time in many many years!

Coral ward are ambassadors for embracing change and challenging ingrained and historical practice. There isn’t a day that goes by when you don’t witness laughter and a hub of activity on this intensive care ward. To quote the RC “this team have bucket loads of resilience, it never ceases to amaze me what they deal with and keep stepping up to the challenges again and again”. Thank you to all the staff who are truly amazing, treats will be delivered to you on Tuesday
