Work – I’m employed as a Volunteering & Befriending Manager. My duties are varied and I’ve had to become very good at multi-tasking.
I’m accountable for the promotion of the service both internally and externally. I lead on the all operational procedures associated with the recruitment of volunteers; this includes planning a new training and induction pathway and ensuring that all roles have a profile. I also manage the befriending schemes in our medium and low secure units.
One of the favourite parts of my job is celebrating the huge contribution volunteers make within our organisation; we hold events during Volunteers Week and Mental Health Awareness Weeks.
Life – I enjoy walking with my husband and my dogs, especially at the seaside. Also spending quality time with my daughter.
I also collect Dalmatian related stuff.
Why do you love working for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust? – I love working for the Trust as they make me feel like a valued member of the team. I’m grateful to the team for allowing me to be myself and to be the best I can be. Above all, I love working with everyone in the team and it’s been said before and it will be said again, ‘We are family’.
Cat or Dog – I’m definitely a dog person. I’ve two Dalmatians called Wispa and Winnie and they are the worst guard dogs as they will lick you to death.
Ideal Holiday – I love getting out and about and I am infamous in my house for planning “Days of Fun” I would love the opportunity to travel abroad more but at the moment I am quite happy camping around our beautiful isle. My husband, daughter and I recently drove down to the Isle of Wight; we loved it and have already booked again for next year. I would recommend it to everyone.
Film Recommendation – My favourite film and one I would recommend to a stranger is ‘Gone with the Wind’.
Music Recommendation – I love music, especially musicals and worship music. However, I would recommend that a stranger listens to different genres of music as it’s all brilliant!
Congrats on your first blog posting! Looking forward to reading more from you on here.
